Matthew Poulin has over 22 years of Martial Arts experience. He is an instructor of Muay Thai (3 Styles), TMAC MT/KB Level 6, GAMMA Muaythai, and a student of Burklerk Muaythai. He is a 1st degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Brazilian Top Team, 3rd degree Black Belt in Fong-Wei-So/Blended Martial Arts, and has been boxing since 1994. He is an officially certified judge/referee for WKF (MMA/MuayThai/K1), MTO (MuayThai), and GAMMA (Mixed Martial Arts). He has promoted True North Fights (2 Shows), True North Development (1 Show), and TMAC Demo Night (2 Shows). Aside from being the National Coach of Canada, he was WKF Head MMA Coach (2016), and ACC Head MMA Coach (2019). He has developed multiple champions in Muay Thai / K1, Mixed Martial Arts, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Grappling. His experience includes 500+ (MMA/Thai Fights) Amateur/Pro and hundreds of Grappling/BJJ matches. He has been running a full time gym for 14 years, works with other gyms in business and operations, and has won the Best Martial Arts Gym Award 6 times!. All his achievements come despite suffering from Crohn’s Disease & Ménière’s Disease – “If I can train and stay active 90% of people can.”
He is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Level 3 in Sambo and has a Foundation in Muay Thai Kickboxing.
